The Unified Carrier Registration (UCR) program requires individuals and companies that operate commercial motor vehicles in interstate or international commerce to register their business with a participating state and pay an annual fee. The UCR fee is distributed among the participating states to fund motor carrier safety programs. Registration is required each calendar year and must be completed before January 1st of the registration year.
